Position Description and Job Skill Set
The Independent Senior IT Consultant will spearhead the following:
- Governance and Accountability
- Align IT practices with internal policies, governance, and regulatory expectations.
- Provide objective, third-party validation for senior managers, executives, and board members.
- Mitigate conflicts of interest through fact-based assessments.
- Legal and Regulatory Risk Reduction
- Identify gaps in compliance with laws and regulations.
- Prevent fines, sanctions, litigation, and federal enforcement action.
- Ensure IT controls support legal obligations.
- Policy Effectiveness
- Evaluate IT policies for legal soundness and current compliance.
- Highlight inconsistencies between written policies and actual IT practices.
- Decision Making for Leadership
- Provide clear, unbiased insight to support strategic decisions.
- Translate technical findings into legal and policy implications.
- Cost Savings and Efficiency
- Prevent costly remediation after incidents.
- Identify redundant or non-compliant systems.
- Align IT investments with legal and policy priorities.
- Actionable Roadmap
- Deliver prioritized recommendations spanning technical controls, policy updates, and legal compliance.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
- 10+ years working for large consulting companies.
- 10+ years delivering consulting or advisory services.
- Experience working with the Department of Labor.

- Programming Language/Development Tools: JIRA (Advanced) – Preferred
