Troubleshooting Expert Team Lead / Manager – Autonomous Vehicle Operations
Location: Onsite (Milford, MI)
Schedule: Sunday – Wednesday | 4:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Arizona MST)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Troubleshooting Expert Team Lead to lead a team responsible for maintaining fleet reliability, supporting autonomous vehicle operations, and driving rapid incident resolution. This role combines technical leadership, operational excellence, and people management to ensure safe and efficient fleet operations while collaborating closely with engineering and field operations teams.
The ideal candidate has experience leading troubleshooting, reliability, technical operations, NOC, incident response, robotics, automotive, aerospace, or autonomous vehicle support teams in fast-paced operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Operations
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Troubleshooting Experts.
- Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, performance management, and prioritization of work.
- Conduct daily standups, shift handoffs, and operational reviews.
- Ensure proper staffing coverage and support escalation management during critical events.
- Promote accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence across the team.
Incident Management & Fleet Reliability
- Oversee technical troubleshooting activities and ensure accurate triage, categorization, and resolution of incidents.
- Monitor operational dashboards and fleet health metrics to identify trends and proactively address issues.
- Support fleet uptime targets through effective incident response and preventive actions.
- Coordinate responses to high-severity operational events and drive mitigation efforts.
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of failures, root causes, corrective actions, and resolutions.
Process Improvement & Compliance
- Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs, SLAs, escalation procedures, and troubleshooting standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using operational metrics, incident reviews, and lessons learned.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, operational guidelines, and company policies.
- Lead training exercises, incident simulations, and preparedness drills.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Autonomous Vehicle Software, Hardware Systems, Vehicle Integration, Robotics, and Engineering teams.
- Balance short-term operational mitigations with long-term engineering improvements.
- Support validation and testing of new software releases, system integrations, and feature rollouts.
- Assist with data analysis, log review, debugging efforts, and operational investigations.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Automotive, Autonomous Vehicles, Robotics, Aerospace, Consumer Electronics, Technical Operations, Fleet Support, Reliability Engineering, or a related industry.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams, shifts, technicians, engineers, contractors, or operational personnel.
- Experience with incident management, troubleshooting, fleet operations, or reliability support.
- Strong experience with:
- JIRA
- Confluence
- Microsoft Office Suite
- CRM or Incident Management Platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Proven ability to perform effectively during high-pressure incidents and escalations.
- Passion for autonomous vehicle technology and next-generation mobility solutions.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and operational support rotations as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience leading:
- NOC (Network Operations Center) teams
- Incident Response teams
- Fleet Operations teams
- Technical Support organizations
- Autonomous Vehicle Operations teams
- Experience with PagerDuty or similar on-call management platforms.
- Advanced experience using JIRA for incident tracking and engineering workflow management.
- Hands-on experience with:
- SQL
- GitHub
- Command Line Tools
- Software Integration Tools (INCA or similar)
- Log Analysis and Debugging Platforms
- Experience supporting robotics, autonomous systems, embedded systems, or vehicle integration programs.
- Customer-facing technical operations or support experience.
