Our client is seeking an experienced Operating Engineer 5, ready to bring their skills, experience, and energy to a great, growing team.
What you’ll be doing…
- Perform maintenance, monitoring repairs to the Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems to keep the facility and building systems up to applicable standards.
- Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, general maintenance, and technical proficiency.
- Maintain HVAC systems and associated equipment at optimum performance levels by cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and changing parts.
- Record readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment.
- Comply with departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean and safe workplace.
- Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory.
- Monitor the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors.
- Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.
The right person has…
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 10+ years of experience in maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
- Ability to analyze and resolve issues in Commercial or Industrial Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- EPA 608 Type II Certification.
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel.
- Preferred: EPA 608 Universal Certification and two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.
