Our client is seeking a skilled Operating Engineer with a passion for facility equipment management. Be part of a thriving environment where your technical expertise can shine!
What you'll be doing:
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across various systems.
- Demonstrate technical expertise in your craft area (Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, Central Utility Plant Operations) and multi-skill in others to complete daily and weekly assignments.
- Conduct maintenance and monitor repairs across Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems to meet facility standards.
- Ensure responsibility for facility services, including preventative maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, and contracted maintenance.
- Clean, inspect, calibrate, and modify parts to maintain optimal performance levels of HVAC systems and associated equipment.
- Record readings and perform necessary adjustments for optimal equipment operation.
- Adhere to policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials, ensuring a clean, safe workplace.
- Periodically check tool and instrument inventory.
- Monitor maintenance work quality and costs performed by external contractors.
- Comply with safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and work area safety. Recognize and propose methods to eliminate safety hazards.
The right person has:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 2-4 years of experience in maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
- Expertise in analyzing and repairing various Commercial or Industrial Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- EPA 608 Type II Certification.
- Working knowledge of computer applications, including Word and Excel.
- A Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license is not mandatory for this role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- EPA 608 Universal Certification.
- Two years of trade schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.
