Network Engineer
Role: IECN Network Engineer
Location: Warren, MI 48092
Duration: 52 weeks (Potential to extend contract or convert permanent)
Schedule: 1st shift – 7:30AM – 4 PM
Hybrid: onsite Tues, Wed, Thurs (Monday and Friday will be onsite as required, but not likely to be onsite these days, may need to be in person if they need to use the lab)
Travel: May be required to drive to other plants – Flint, Orion could be any local plant but will just use their own car for this. Not driving a company vehicle.
Job Summary:
- IECN Network Engineer responsible for creating deployment tools & supporting plants running both Cisco & Hirschmann networks.
Business Group & Key Projects:
- Automation standards group, they create and maintain the standards for the industrial ethernet controls network (IECN).
- They are looking for someone to work with their network lead and work with them to troubleshoot the network, want someone who has scripting (Python or C# – must have these) experience, looking for someone who is familiar with Cisco and Hershman products – they need to have at least one of these, both is a nice to have, but both are not required
- Team size – 10 people
Typical Day in the Role:
- Their day will be a combination of individual work and working with the network lead for direction, they will be providing the network direction and/or supporting plants for with their requirements
- Supporting their dynamic plant environment and helping them build trucks
Qualification:
- Education – Bachelor Degree (area does not matter – Engineering or Computer Science is nice to have).
- Years of experience – at least 2 years.
- They have standards that are the global common hardware and global common software, they utilize these standards, so if they are familiar with this it would be helpful (GCCH/GCCS – preferred).
- Programming/scripting (Python, C#, Visual Basic) Required
- EtherNet IP Required
- Manufacturing experience preferred
