What You’ll Be Doing…
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across multiple systems and facilities.
- Showcase technical expertise in your craft, whether in Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations, while being multi-skilled in other areas.
- Secure facility and building systems remain up to applicable standards by performing maintenance and monitoring repairs on Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems.
- Travel between various facilities to ensure their flawless operation.
- Spearhead responsibilities related to facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, general maintenance, and technical proficiency.
- Maintain and optimize HVAC systems and equipment by cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts as needed.
- Keep accurate records by reading and making necessary adjustments to ensure equipment operates correctly.
- Adhere to department policies on the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
- Conduct routine checks on tools and instrument inventory to ensure optimal functionality.
- Assess the quality and pricing of maintenance work executed by external contractors.
- Comply with all safety procedures, ensuring safety and cleanliness in work areas, and identify potential dangers while suggesting safety improvements.
Preferred Qualifications…
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- Acumen in maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
- Proficient in analyzing the operation of Commercial or Industrial Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems to diagnose problems and implement solutions.
- EPA 608 Type II Certification is required, while EPA 608 Universal Certification is preferred.
- Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC would be an advantage.
- Competent user of computer applications like Word and Excel.
- Valid driver’s license is necessary.
- A Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license is not required for this role.
