What you’ll be doing…
- Operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing various facility systems.
- Demonstrating technical proficiency in electrical, HVAC, piping/plumbing, and more.
- Performing maintenance and monitoring repairs to Mechanical, Plumbing, Structural, Furniture, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems.
- Traveling between 20 buildings, ensuring their proper functionality at least once a month.
- Handling preventative maintenance, purchasing and inventory control, contracted maintenance, and general maintenance.
- Cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and changing parts to maintain the HVAC systems at optimum performance levels.
- Recording readings and making necessary adjustments to ensure proper equipment operation.
- Complying with departmental policy for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Performing periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory and monitoring quality and pricing of maintenance work by outside contractors.
- Recognizing danger and proposing methods to eliminate safety hazards.
The right person has…
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Five years of experience in maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
- Strong HVAC and electrical skills.
- Small plumbing skills.
- EPA Universal Certification required or must obtain within 60 days of FTE.
- EPA 608 Type II Certification.
- Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Preferred: Two years of trade schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8-4pm, with no on-call requirements. Potential for overtime if called in.
