HVAC & Refrigeration Technician – Cleveland OH
The HVAC/R Technician is responsible for the operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and production equipment and systems in assigned facilities. The role focuses on ensuring equipment is maintained in an energy-efficient and safe manner, minimizing downtime through proactive repairs, and maintaining records of past operating experiences. The technician will perform inspections and repairs to both the interior and exterior of assigned properties, including walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting. This position requires technical expertise in HVAC and refrigeration, as well as multi-skilling in electrical, piping/plumbing, and material handling equipment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
– Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair response work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems and equipment.
– Maintain, operate, and repair all HVAC/R systems and associated equipment, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, building interior/exterior repairs, related grounds, and production equipment.
– Study and become familiar with various items of equipment and the methods required to use them properly in everyday activities.
– Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on conditions impacting client occupancy and operations.
– Submit P-card receipts daily and update work order status in real-time.
– Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed.
– Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
– Be available for call-in work and perform other duties as required.
**Required Qualifications:**
– Universal CFC recovery certification (or obtain within 90 days of employment).
– Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering with a strong background in HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and production equipment repair and maintenance.
– Knowledge of overall system design and applications.
– Experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial refrigeration and/or supermarket refrigeration.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
– Experience utilizing CMMS (Work Order) systems.
– Working knowledge of computer applications, including Word and Excel.
– Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration, and HVAC.
**Additional Information:**
– This position may require occasional call-in work and the performance of other duties as assigned.
– The candidate must be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently or as part of a team to ensure optimal facility operations.
