Our client is seeking an experienced Facilities Technician 4, ready to bring their skills, experience, and energy to a great, growing team.
What you'll be doing…
- Diagnose, service, and repair refrigerant-based HVAC equipment including VRF/VRV systems, chillers, DX units, heat pumps, and rooftop units (RTUs).
- Perform refrigerant recovery, charging, leak detection, brazing, and compressor repairs in compliance with EPA and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot HVAC electrical components, low-voltage controls, sensors, and automation devices.
- Monitor, adjust, and verify HVAC system performance using superheat/subcooling analysis and other diagnostic methods.
- Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance inspections and document findings, repairs, and refrigerant usage.
- Support system startups, commissioning activities, and functional testing for new or upgraded equipment.
- Communicate technical issues and recommended solutions to facility teams and management.
The right person has…
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- EPA Section 608 Certification (Universal).
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience servicing refrigerant-based HVAC systems.
- Proven experience troubleshooting compressors, refrigerant circuits, and mechanical components.
- Working knowledge of HVAC electrical systems, low-voltage controls, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentation.
- Technical or vocational training in HVAC or a related field.
- Experience working with building automation systems (BAS/BMS).
- Familiarity with system performance testing, energy efficiency optimization, and automation setpoint adjustments.
- Additional certifications such as NATE, HVAC Excellence, or OEM-specific training.
- Experience supporting HVAC startups, commissioning, or retrofit projects.
- Strong documentation skills and comfort using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
