What you’ll be doing…
- Operate and maintain both critical and non-critical infrastructure, equipment, and systems in the data center.
- Commit firmly to safety and reliability within the data center environment.
- Drive operational excellence by adhering to company standards and industry best practices.
- Collaborate effectively with a team of Critical Facilities Technicians to ensure optimal availability of the data center and minimize risks.
- Monitor power, cooling capacity, and environmental conditions within the data halls diligently.
- Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to manage both planned and unplanned data center tasks.
- Assist in the development and execution of operating procedures and preventive maintenance inspections, ensuring accuracy and continual improvement.
- Address electrical and mechanical issues in the data center, efficiently communicating to the appropriate chain of command.
- Tackle emergencies and critical issues, working independently or as part of a team towards complete recovery.
- Maintain precise facility data, including rounds, work orders, and change management.
- Coordinate with and oversee outside contractors, ensuring compliance with critical facility work rules.
- Conduct facility rounds at the start of each shift to ensure data center and grounds upkeep.
- Work flexible shifts to support 24/7 data center operation and cover other shifts as necessary.
The right person has…
- 5-7 years of experience in related fields.
- Prior military or technical school training, preferred.
- 1-3+ years’ experience in Mission Critical Environments, preferred.
- Electrical or mechanical license, preferred.
- Basic HVAC, electrical, and fire suppression skills.
- Strong commitment to safety and reliability.
- Ability to effectively handle emergencies and critical issues.
