Our valued client is seeking a skilled Data Center Technician to join their team, ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of a data center site. With a contract extending until September 30, 2026, you have the opportunity to become an integral part of a dedicated team working around the clock.
What You'll Be Doing…
- Execute and manage critical and non-critical infrastructure, equipment, and systems within the data center.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety and reliability.
- Drive operational excellence through adherence to company standards and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with Critical Facilities Technicians to maximize data center availability and minimize risks.
- Monitor power, cooling capacity, and environmental conditions in the data halls.
- Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to handle planned and unplanned work.
- Develop and carry out operating procedures and preventive maintenance inspections with accuracy and improvement in mind.
- Respond to electrical and mechanical issues, minimizing risk and effectively communicating issues through the appropriate channels.
- Handle emergencies and critical situations independently or as part of a team for a successful recovery.
- Maintain precise facility data, including rounds, work orders, and change management.
- Coordinate and supervise outside contractors, ensuring adherence to critical facility work rules.
- Conduct facility rounds at the beginning of each shift for continuous data center and grounds upkeep.
- Work shifts to support a 24/7 operation, maintaining flexibility for coverage as needed.
The Right Person Has…
- 5-7 years of experience
- Prior military or technical school training, preferred
- 1-3+ years' experience in Mission Critical Environments, preferred
- Electrical or mechanical license, preferred
- Basic HVAC, electrical, and fire suppression skills
Shift hours include:
Friday 6am – 6pm
Saturday 6am – 6pm
Sunday 6am – 6pm
