Our client is seeking an experienced Data Center Engineer 2, ready to bring their skills, experience, and energy to a great, growing team.
What you'll be doing…
- Maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance to ensure continuous operation of all data center systems for 100% up-time, including fire/life safety, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Monitor and adjust refrigeration, chilled water, air conditioning, boilers, ventilating, water heaters, pumps, valves, piping, filters, and other mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Record readings and make adjustments as necessary to ensure proper equipment operation.
- Respond promptly to alarms and alerts from building management systems.
- Analyze system operations, identify problems/malfunctions, and take corrective actions efficiently.
- Ensure safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
- Manage incidents and events that may threaten critical systems at the data center site.
- Handle work order management, including CMMS, vendor management, and customer-facing tickets.
- Adhere to emergency escalation procedures and perform additional job duties as required.
The right person has…
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- 3+ years of related work experience, including knowledge of systems, emergency generators, and switchgears.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Proficiency or capability to develop knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
- Ability to interact professionally with tenants and contractors.
- Capability to respond to site emergencies and work on different schedules.
- Hands-on experience working in a data center/critical facility (preferred).
- Experience with systems like Corrigo, MCIM/Salesforce, Zendesk, and Service Now (preferred).
- Physical ability to walk large campus-like settings, frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, stooping, working/extending overhead, lifting up to 50 lbs, and climbing ladders up to 30 ft.
