Our client, a leading organization in the industry, is seeking a dedicated Data Center Building Engineer to ensure the seamless operation of their critical facilities. If you are passionate about making a difference and thrive in a dynamic environment, we want to hear from you!
What You'll Be Doing:
- Oversee the maintenance, monitoring, and preventive maintenance of all building systems to ensure 100% uptime. This includes fire/life safety, mechanical systems (HVAC, chillers, plumbing, etc.), and electrical systems (UPS, ATS, generators, etc.).
- Analyze system operations to identify issues and implement necessary corrective actions to maintain optimal performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, including the proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials while maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
- Gain comprehensive understanding of the data center site to effectively manage incidents and risks to critical systems.
- Handle work order management, encompassing CMMS, vendor management, and customer-facing tickets.
- Adhere to emergency escalation procedures, ensuring timely and appropriate responses.
- Perform additional duties as required to support operational excellence.
Physical Work Abilities & Requirements:
- Capable of frequent walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and working overhead.
- Navigating large, campus-like settings.
- Lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Climbing stairs and accessing rooftops for equipment maintenance.
- Utilizing ladders up to 30 ft and working from heights.
- Capability to climb a ladder with a 300-lb weight limit.
- Available to work various schedules, including holidays and site emergencies.
The Right Candidate Has:
Required:
- 2+ years of experience in a data center/critical facility environment.
- Familiarity with building systems, such as UPS systems, emergency generators, and switchgears.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and Google Suite.
Preferred:
- Experience with Corrigo.
- Possession of Universal EPA 608 certification.
- Training in NFPA70E standards.
