Our client is seeking an experienced Facilities Technician 5, ready to bring their skills, experience, and energy to a great, growing team.
What you'll be doing…
- Oversee and monitor the operation of critical building systems including refrigeration, emergency backup systems, boilers, and related mechanical/electrical equipment.
- Analyze system operations, troubleshoot problems, and perform preventative maintenance to ensure proper equipment function.
- Conduct routine tests and inspections on support equipment, including water testing and chemical inventories.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and repair service work on site utility systems such as boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and air handling units.
- Assist other mechanics and operators with major repairs and maintenance of building systems and equipment.
- Document all work performed in a Computerized Maintenance Management System and communicate regularly with supervisors.
- Order materials, maintain compliance with safety regulations, and ensure proper storage of hazardous materials.
The right person has…
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with industrial-sized HVAC equipment, including steam boilers up to 37.5 MMBTU and chillers up to 1000 tons.
- Experience with chilled water systems with tonnage greater than 500 tons of cooling, and steam boiler systems 9,500 HP (32.5 MMBTU).
- A mentor-like approach to guide junior staff and a general understanding of computers and pump rebuilding.
- Required EPA Universal certification.
- Capability to work on a Mon-Fri schedule with rotating weekend shifts every 7 weeks.
