Sr. System Administrator/Engineer

Join our infrastructure engineering team where we are on the hunt for a Senior System Administrator/Engineer who is proficient in both our legacy on-premises infrastructure as well as modern cloud environments. Enjoy the flexibility of working from any nearshore or offshore location as long as you meet the following qualifications:
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Delivering system support during overnight operations across various IT environments.
- Perform routine administrative tasks, system monitoring, and issue resolution across platforms like virtualization, storage, backup, networking, and applications.
- Conduct health checks, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting for key areas such as:
- VMware: Manage tools such as vCenter, ESXi, vMotion, vRA, SRM, VDI, and vSAN.
- Storage Systems: Handle systems such as Dell PowerStore, Unity, Cohesity, AWS FSx.
- Backup Platforms: Work with Avamar, IDPA, Dell Data Domain, and Backupify.
- Linux & Windows Server: Experience with patching, deployment, and clustering.
- Citrix: Manage platforms like CVAD, NetScaler, XenDesktop, and ControlUp.
- FTP & File Transfer: Proficiency with WSFTP, PGP, and job scheduling.
- Monitoring Tools: Use of SolarWinds, Data Insights, and CloudIQ.
- Execute patch management, system updates, and routine maintenance.
- Respond to alerts and incidents with effective escalation when necessary.
- Document system processes and maintain runbooks for continuity.
- Collaborate with global teams to ensure consistent coverage and operation.
The Right Person Has:
- 7+ years of experience in system administration or engineering roles.
- Hands-on knowledge with VMware, Windows Server, and enterprise storage solutions.
- Familiarity with backup systems and monitoring utilities.
- Strong troubleshooting and communication aptitudes.
- Capability to work independently, primarily during night shifts.
Preferred Skills Include:
- IT Generalist who is comfortable managing various platforms.
- Script knowledge (PowerShell, Bash) is advantageous.
- Exposure to ITIL processes and experience with ticketing systems.
