Our client, a renowned agency, is on the hunt for a skilled Cloud, Application Governance, and Transition Consultant, eager to leverage their expertise and contribute to a transformative mission-critical application transition.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead the secure transition of a mission-critical application from the outgoing vendor to agency-controlled operations and an incoming support vendor.
- Re-establish agency oversight of all technical assets, infrastructure environments, and documentation linked to the application.
- Collaborate closely with agency leadership, IT security personnel, business stakeholders, and external vendors.
- Ensure application operational continuity, security posture, and governance structure align with agency policies and strategic needs.
The right person has:
- Proven experience in managing transitions of complex, mission-critical applications.
- Strong background in application governance, access control management, and cloud infrastructure administration, particularly AWS.
- A solid understanding of secure DevOps/DevSecOps practices.
- Experience working within public-sector agencies or regulated environments.
- Expertise in enterprise security frameworks and operational risk management.
- Exceptional communication skills, able to produce documentation and reports for executive audiences.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including technical teams and vendors.
What's preferred but not required:
- Familiarity with the Mississippi Department of Employment Security Agency’s mission and operations.
- Prior experience with the ReEmployMS program.
- Understanding of the application’s historical development and stakeholder requirements.
- Experience balancing vendor access with agency oversight.
