Senior Network Engineer
Are you a seasoned Senior Network Engineer, ready to take your career to the next level? We have an exciting opportunity for you!
This is a 100% on-site position, working Monday through Friday with the potential need for overtime. You should also be prepared to be part of a 24/7 on-call standby rotation, currently structured as a 2-week on-call duty every 6 weeks, both remotely and on-site.
What you'll be doing…
- Provide innovative network design and security strategy specifically tailored for the Fire Department's CAD network.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to Fire Department staff, vendors, stakeholders, and partners.
- Plan and coordinate extensive infrastructure and networking projects; manage and oversee project implementation by team members and consultants.
- Spearhead the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network connectivity and performance.
- Lead the creation and upkeep of documentation related to the knowledge base, network configurations, mapping diagrams, processes, and service records.
- Support the IT Manager in developing the annual operating budget and Capital Improvement Plan for network infrastructure components.
- Manage and maintain robust relationships and contracts with third-party vendors involved in Fire network systems.
- Participate in department, vendor, and partner meetings as required.
- Audit devices and configurations to ensure adherence to standards, security, and best practices.
- Create, document, resolve, and maintain items in the ticketing system, encompassing problems, incidents, service requests, change controls, and the configuration management database.
The right person has…
- At least five years of experience in planning, design, and maintenance of a large network.
- Five years of experience in configuration, management, and troubleshooting of Cisco IOS and Cisco Nexus devices.
- Supervisory experience managing the activities of a small team comprised of full-time and contract employees.
- Expertise with routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Experience with point-to-point VPNs, IPsec, and NAT.
- Professional certifications like CCNP, Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Firewall Engineer, or similar industry-recognized certifications.
